press release

Mike R. -

That's great that TASS will be issuing a press release at the AAS meeting.
You asked for suggestions. Here's one: a strip of sky can be rendered
as a raster scan; that's how we (Hentges & McCullough, same meeting)
plan on doing it. We may also present a scroll that tails off into the
walkway, hoping to trip up some unsuspecting poster readers.

The good thing about press releases is that you can get your story
straight and delivered without error to the newspapers, etc. I've
thought that the idea was to write the copy in such a way that the
reporter can essentially cut and paste what you say, so he/she also
knows it is without error (unless the scientist blows it).

While I'm at it, we see the Gegenshein in our data (someone asked
about that previously). We haven't investigated it for structure yet,
but will soon.

It'll be great to see you in San Diego. You and anyone else will be
welcome to visit the Mt Laguna site with me...we can drive our wide
field camera around (although it'll be full moon). M.L.Obs is a 1.5
hour drive from the main conference site.
