There is an error in the database software I posted recently.
It is a serious one, but with an easy two line fix. The
error is in the "0.7" version. I may not get around to
posting "0.7.1" for a few days.
To fix the problem with "0.7":
*After* running the "tdb_SETUP" script,
1) Go to the directory /usr/local/TASSDB/sql
2) edit the file called create_tass_cat.sql
3) Remove the lines that read in part "DROP SEQUENCE" and
"CREATE SEQUENCE"
That's it, no recompile or reinstall required. The DROP/CREATE
SEQUENCE commands should only be run once by the SETUP script.
This bug causes catalog entries in the tass catalog to be asigned
duplicate IDs for objects not matched to the TASSM16 "seed" list
and procedded in seperate merge runs. Bottom line is you get a
mess and waste many hours.
People where asking about database documentation Even if you
don't care to set up a database, get the tar file, unpack it and
look in the ../Doc directory for an html file. This can be
read with netscape and is the start of a documentation effort aimed
at end-users as well as database administrators. Comments welcome
This html file should become a TN after it is finished
