Another 2 CD ROMs worth of data last night to add to my stack. About 12 so
far. I am beginning to see a problem. My guess is that we will have a 5
mag range between noise and saturation. If I am correct (from star counts)
that we can measure mag 15, then we saturate at 10. This means that we
will need a catalog of mag 11 or so stars for calibration. Is this available?
I think I will follow Arne's suggestion from now on and take an exposure
sequence - say 20 and 200 seconds while following the field. So I will
start taking the sequence 20, 200 back up, 20, 200, etc. ...
What do you all think?
I added an 11 GB disk yesterday to give me more space to take data. The
usual things happened, I even tried to reload Windows which did not work
either. Eventually I got it to work by uninstalling the CD ROM writer.
Now I can try to install that again today. Sigh!
