Asking for FITS image data by _location_ in the sky would
require someone to do a lot of work. There is however a
way to figure out the list of filenames to ask for from the
TASS database.
Every data point in the database has stored with it, along
with the magnitude and ra and dec a "frame ID" This ID can
tall you exactly which FITS image file the data point came
from. You can ask the database for all data within a small
patch of sky then to track down the FITS filenames from each
point then reduce the list to unique filenames. You should
be able to craft a SQL statment to do the above.
The filenames have the site ID as part of the name so you can
know who to ask for the data.
My guess is that everyone has kept thier image files and if you
could ask for a few files by filename you would get them. But
if you asked me for "Any data that covers a square in the sky
bounded by blah, blah..." it would be a long time before I'd get
around to hunding down the data. Others who by now have thousands
of images couldn't do the job manually.
