My ignorance of modern databases is complete
(even after reading the entire postgreSQL HowTo)
but might this just possibly include, for example,
trying out the method of differential photometry of
C. Alard & R. H. Lupton, astro-ph/9712287, ApJ 503,
325 1998?
Of course, this, like every other bright scheme that
occurs to me, requires access to raw data, all the data,
nothing but the data. Well, not all the data at once.
Just all the data for a selected chunk of RA. At a
guess, just a few hundred Mk III images ...
