TASS Camera view of M31

Well, I'm not completely happy with the results, but
I have just posted the V-band image of M31 as taken
by the TASS camera at NOFS at
ftp://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/tass/m31v.fts
This is a 1550x1450 cut out of the composite image, FITS
floating-point format, so expect to transfer about 8MB
if you download this image. It is from a total of
103 minutes of exposure with the 10cm aperture cameras,
using a Loral thick front-illuminated CCD with 7.5arcsec
pixels. There is some image rotation
that has not been removed. There is a little flatfielding
"glow" on the right hand edge. The stars are a little
out of focus. But, overall, not a bad first effort.
I'll get the I-band composite out as soon as I can, but
it may have to wait until I return from Europe.
