Mark IV Operation
Running a Mark IV is not going to be like buying an Explorer from Ford
where you just take it out on the road and drive it 100 miles an hour
without fastening your seat belt. The Mark IV is going to require some
care and fussing. Everything will not always work, so you will have to be
aware and sensitive to the adjustments that might be required. I have a
lot of experience now, and can provide good advice. You are going to have
to want to run it though. I would not want to be more than a few miles
away. I am a flight of stairs away now, and with my legs that is a few
miles of effort.
OK, it is quite possible that one will be able to run remotely after a few
months of shake down and learning to fix the things that are a problem in
your locale. Probably different from my problems here in Batavia.
Non the less, I now rarely lose data that I want to take. One just has to
be awake and alert. I doubt it is much different at any telescope.
