The Shipment

For all the curious, I know about UPS tracking and tracked the box across
the country. It made it in three hops, not much different than it would
have done by air. It just spent more time on a truck that went directly
from CA to IL.

The funny thing is that it was reboxed in route by person or persons
unknown who in the process lost the rather useless to anyone but me box
containing all the documentation and back up disks.

The shipping label and the UPS label were removed from the old box and
taped on the new. This was done where they had new shipping boxes and
shipping tape. It was a professional job. The computer itself was still
sealed in the "Made in China" box that the power supply and case came
in. No sign of damage to the China box or any indication that it had been
opened.

Chris, I think I would first suspect Mail Boxes, Inc. where you dropped it
off. Looks like their type of stuff to me. Perhaps they still have the
mother board box on a table somewhere. Possibly you can give them a
call. Possibly UPS would not take it and they reboxed it to get rid of
it. Hard to imagine though. Since it took such a direct path, I can't
imagine it being damaged in route without UPS marking it as such. We shall
see when their inspector gets here.
