Plans, For, The, Summer, /, Fall

Tom & All,

Here are some thoughts on what I was planning on doing over the course of
the Summer and Fall, see how that might fit in with you and Mikes plans and
we can has out additional details as the time gets closer to pick up MIKE &
Glenn.

1)	Get the camera brought back to Ohio, installed and taking data ( a very
big job I know but one that can be done while taking useful data I hope.

2). Help Chris with the effort to get the Mark IV control software to a
point where it is operating under Linux to perform most of the things that
need to be done.

3). Implement a data reduction pipe-line that works well and that each site
operator feels ‘comfortable with’ and can yield good results on each local
site. (I appreciate the off of data Tom and will take you up on it in a
short while.) I just made a trip out at lunch today to get a rack-mount case
for my Mark IV control computer here in Dayton. I will live outside (or in
the back of the garage) and I am not sure which is the best location for it
yet. As soon as I get the computer configured (this weekend I hope) I will
try it out with the last disk of data that you sent me.

4). Take and publish some data on various short period variables that should
be good candidates for the summer observing session. The folks at the CBA
usually have a good ‘stars of summer’ list that could provide some
interesting things to look at while we are collecting data’ and getting
cameras operational. Having a several fields to look at over the course of
an evening seems to be a way to collect some useful data, if anything really
neat shows up we can put together a couple IBVS notes about it too.
