CD Roms
I just ordered 800 CDR. This time I ordered them on spindles so that I
will be able to catalog them better. 32 spindles of 25. It appears that I
have used up most of the 400 that I ordered only a few months ago. This is
a good sign. Some of the data may even be worth keeping. For those who
care they were 18.5 cents each in this quantity. Remember when I started
using CDs they were several dollars.
There is no question that this is cheap enough for raw data storage. Looks
like I am using about 200 a year for raw data storage for TOM. This is
under $50 a year. Some day video disks will be cheap, but for now, it
looks like CDs are just right. While it takes several for a nights run,
this can even be convenient for finding parts of an night's run as I am
about to have to do.
