I finally got it to run all the way to the end, and I got the same result.
44 minutes on a Pentium 450, 256MB. Red Hat 6.2.

The last gotcha for me was long directory names. When I replaced
"/data/TASS/Disk18subset/output" with "/TD/output" it ran to completion; before
I did that, it died trying to exec the collate program. I presume this is some
TCL buffer size restriction.
I agree with what Tom said - very nice job of documentation.
