Re: file name
There are only two operating systems were the "dot three" filename
convention is enforced: DOS and VMS. For others
The dot (".") is just another character. You could even name a file
"...." if you wanted.
You are right however, there are still many old programs around that
use the "dot three" convention. But their are many conventions so you
need to fix up the names anyways most likely.
In my opinion the filename does not matter at all. Only as long as
each image is garanted by convention to have a unique name. And no,
you can't depend on keeping the files in serporate directories either.
They need to be unique, project wide. We keep the file names in a
database and each must be unique. Random hexidecimal numbers are OK by
me if they can be made unique TASS wide.
