update on ARNE activity

Michael asked about WZ Sge. Yes, I have considered
running the Mark IV to monitor it. With the 2.5hr
tracking range, you can actually cover more than one
orbit of the cataclysmic binary. Unfortunately, our
weather has not been cooperative since we are in our monsoon.
They are predicting a dry spell this weekend and so
I will be attempting to monitor this variable as well
as Nova Cyg 2001 (V2274 Cyg), Nova Sco 2001 (V1178 Sco)
and Comet Linear. Plenty to observe whether you are
in survey mode or not!
I built a cover for ARNE out of PVC pipe and fittings.
I'll post a picture of it on my ftp site one of these days.
The hardest part was in finding something that would hold
6mil poly plastic sheeting onto PVC pipe. So far, I have found
two solutions. There is a SuperGlue formulated for plastic
that holds well. A better solution though is a hot glue gun.
The cover is quite light and since it is hinged on one end,
a single observer can open or close it.
ARNE's computer now has a clean version of RH 7.1 installed.
I'll be running an older version of Tom's code under DOSEMU
until he supplies me with Rob Creager's updated fits writing
code that works under DOSEMU. After I know everything is working,
I will start looking at Chris' driver.
