HD209458 Transit opportunities for the Mark IV

Thanks to all who helped me verify the opportunities for observing transits
of the planet orbiting HD209458. The following table lists the
opportunities for observing either the ingress or egress of a transit with
MIKE once it comes to Cincinnati this weekend.

Date UT	Ingress HA	Egress HA

07-Aug-2001	05.45 05.05
14-Aug-2001	06.64	-16.19
21-Aug-2001	07.82 08.57

22-Sep-2001	01.17 -14.01
29-Sep-2001	02.35 10.75
06-Oct-2001	03.54	-10.49
13-Oct-2001	04.73 14.27

13-Nov-2001	22.07 -08.31
20-Nov-2001	23.26 16.45
28-Nov-2001	00.45	-04.79
05-Dec-2001	01.64 19.97

UT is in decimal hours. Cincinnati is UT - 4 hours for daylight savings
time and UT - 5 hours in standard time.

HA is the hour angle in degrees from the meridian for either the start of
ingress or the finish of egress. The Mark IV camera is capable of seeing a
star while it is within about +- 20 degrees from the meridian. All the
dates would have an altitude of between 60 and 70 degrees.

The August dates would be 1 day, 1 week and 2 weeks after MIKE arrives and
so might be difficult except maybe the last. The dates in late September
and early October should be good ones at a time of year that is usually good
for observing here. The November and December dates are early in the
evening but the sun sets pretty early then.

Is anyone else interested in observing any of these transits? TOM and
MICHAEL would have similar dates, times and angles while ARNE may have
similar angles on dates a week later than these.
