Re: Focus indication
I'm not active in this particular discussion, but I have a suggestion.
Is there a reasonably current set of images with descriptions that
briefly describe why they are "bad"? or why they have various defects?
It would seem to be useful to have them, either as a "test set" when
the program is written, or as a "training set" for an adaptive program.
I recall from my readings of image processing in the past, that test
sets and training sets were often used to develop what was called
"feature extraction" methods or "pattern recognition" methods.
I also recall that some of Tom's CD image sets had SOME level of
description, and that Tom has otherwise kept observing logs. Perhaps
this information and imaging can be used once again.
