Continuing along similar lines, I'd highly recommend
all pipeline developers to keep careful version number tracking
for their programs, and to send the history to Michael to
archive on the tass web site.  As starlists get processed
and posted, we need to know what version of what processed
the file and what stage of development was involved.  I know
this is extra paperwork, but it is really necessary.  You could
fix a bug that has systematically caused photometry to be 0.2mag
too bright, or the astrometry could be using a new catalog.
Without version number tracking, the quality of the starlists
has to be suspect.  Record-keeping is one of the most important
aspects of science.
