Plans
This will outline what I will be trying to do over the next several
months. The order below it the rough priority. Often there is nothing
that can be done on the high priority items due to missing parts, weather
and the like. So we will do what we can.
1) Get TOM1 running and taking data. We are close. I want to start taking
production data. The next several months are usually the best viewing here.
2) Ship out modified Stamp/Scanner boards to Arne and Michael. I need to
get done with 1) so that Dan can sit and put in little wires. Then I have
to test the boards. We are close. There are plenty of boards in the stack
for me to test now. This will allow us all to run the same software.
3) Start layout of a printed circuit board for the ECP port. This is
pretty simple, but there are a lot of steps, so I need to get
started. Order parts so that we will be ready to assemble it when the
board comes back from the PC vendor. I still have to finish the write up
on the ECP logic. It is done, I just have to scan it and add it to
TN-78. I will finish this and have you all review it before I start the
layout.
4) On days that Dan is here, I will have him work to finish TOM2 and then
we will get it running. I hope we will get this done before we miss too
much of the good viewing.
5) Design parts for extended RA motion and get them into the shop.
6) Bench work for Dan. All the boards need to be updated and tested. I
now have printed circuit boards for more cameras.
7) One of my jobs is to build more cameras. I have about 10 that I should
be able to make work. Most need something like the installation of a new TEC.
8) Assemble more lenses. Not a big job, but it will take a few days of
fussing.
9) Start construction of ROB. We will convert GLENN to ROB by changing the
side plates. This will allow checkout of the new ECP port at the earliest
possible date.
10) Get started (again) on GLENN. I am sorry to have to delay GLENN. It
is just a question of having systems in the field that I can maintain. I
want to ship GLENN out with the new ECP port.
11) Start assembly of TOM3.
