Really Last Call for DS-19
OK, DS-19 is the first pretty good data that I have taken. The stars are
pretty round, the tracking is fair, and the data set is such that one
should be able to use it to search for interesting objects. There are
exposures to make flats and darks, and a 50 exposure set of the same field
taken over two hours.
As previously posted, I propose to make this data set a basis for a
"contest" to produce workable software so that I can start reducing
data. This is really a bribe to get me the software that I need. I am not
opposed to bribes if they work. So far, there seems to be great
disinterest. That is the problem attempting to guide a group like this. I
would not have it any other way.
In any case, DS-19 is a good set to look at. I still hope that one of you
will work up a procedure that will make it possible for me to reduce the data.
