Data Taking Plan for TOM2

I am slowly bring TOM2 into operation. I spent the morning trying to tug
the whole assembly around the dome. I have to be careful or the whole mess
will tumble down on me. Crushed to death by two Mark IVs. A great way to
meat one's end.

I propose to point TOM2 at the pole and take data similar to the flat
runs. I could take 30 or so exposures rotating around the pole. This
would get many repeat exposures of the stars at different positions on the
CCD. I would include bias frames and dark frames in the runs. Say 1 bias,
2 darks, and 17 object files. Then rotate back to the limit switch and do
it all again until the night was over.

The reason I propose this is that I assume that the pole has been well
studied, and that there will be lots of available calibration
stars. Hmmmm! Does Landolt do the pole?

We can follow fields for very long periods of time. We could then slowly
move down from the pole.

I recall that Arne proposed this as a science project. I think it would a
nice calibration project. What do you all think?
