Setting a PC's time of day

times.  But here is the best written information

Applies to both MS Windows and Linux/UNIX

All you need a is modem connection to the Internet
that is connected once or twice a day for a few minutes
and your clock will stay pretty close.  With DSL or
cable it will be within milliseconds.  OK, that's
enough the real news here is the well written URL above.
