STARE data reduction reference?

I'm looking at the STARE project and some of it's results.
What impresses me is the very short error bars.
I wanted to know the difference between their system of the Mk IV.
So far I see

1) That the camera and optics are about the same. Well they
are using a faster telescope but the stars look fatter
then the Mk IV's but I could only look at a GIF image.
2) They operate from a very dark site in the Canary Islands.
3) The mount is more controllable being taken from Meade SCT
4) They use an auto guider. (nice round stars)

What I don't see is anything about data reduction techniques
they use. Only one hint on the web site that says "We are still
processing..." which implies they don't do it in real time.
Anyone found something that talks about STARE software?
