Perl Progress

Great Success!  I have written my first perl program that does something 
useful.  There will now be no stopping me.  I can now see my way clear to 
working on all that data that I have.  The last week has been spent 
learning about all the ways one can put ; , } = $ in the wrong places.

At the beginning of the year, I was helpless in front of a Unix 
terminal.  Now I can plug away for hours doing useful things before I have 
to grab a book and hunt.

First I want to really look at some data.  Not in Michael's usually 
splendid detail, but just to look to see if it is good enough for an 
engineering run.
