  set output  ...
  set terminal ...
One suggestion.  For the best quality chose one of the vector
formats not a raster format like png, or tiff.  If you create
Postscript output the redering device (not gnuplot) will use
the full resolution of the display.  On screen you will be
able to zoom to any detail and still see sharp detail.
and prints will be at full printer resolution
To post on the web use the "ps2pdf" program to convert to
Adobe Acrobat
