Problems

I spent some time today fussing with the star matching program.  This is 
problem #1 on the list.  I tried everything available (to me) to try to get 
a dense star field to match.  No luck.  I set the .fits header RA and Dec. 
quite closely.  I think it is not a question of position but of star 
density and focus.

Rich Knowles has been looking at the data and has noticed why we need 
something like photom-0.2.  This is problem 2.  I have been looking at a 
relatively large data set and will generate a tech note.  Richard G. von 
Blücher and Mike Sallman are on the list to get data sets to work on these 
problems.  Anyone else while I am making up data sets?  By the nature of 
the problems, the data sets need to be large, so it will take me a while to 
make them up.

The problems:

#1 Optimize the star matching program so that it does not fail so often.

#2 Improve the photom program so that it does it's  job without blowing 
up.  A subset of this problem is to get rid of the 99 mags that are stuck 
in the data stream.  These do not seem to cause the blow up, but good to 
get rid of them anyway.
