If your question is "What catalogs should I look in?" for matches,
those are two good choices.

If your question is "Are most of the variables in these areas known?"
the question is almost certainly no. Variability surveys of the
past have had serious selection biases of all sorts. It is highly likely
that bright, interesting variables will be located by this dataset.

Bohdan Pacynski is very fond of showing the distribution of known
variable stars in a region near the galactic center. There are little
boxes of RA and Dec filled with variables and right adjacent to them
is nothing. The boxes full o' variables just corresponded to the plate
sizes for particular surveys!
