Success!!!!

As you all may recall, I have had a problem with the memory boards since
the beginning of the project. I put Dan to work extracting information
from his father (Merl) and as he told me how things worked, I was able to
understand the problem. I will write up a Service Note to describe the fix.

All along I was blaming software. Well, I put every hardware fix in place
that I could think of, so it had to be software. ;^) Now that I
understand the problem, I don't know whether to call it a hardware problem
or a software problem.

The key is that I did not understand the programming sequence required to
set bits in the Memory card register. So the Memory card was not being
properly reset. Once I performed the right sequence, it worked the first
time.

This is a real load off my mind. I must admit that I despaired building
any more systems beyond RICH since I was not sure that I could get memory
boards to work. Now I am confident that I can get as many Memory boards
working as I need.

The only reason that any Memory boards have worked in the past is that they
happen to come up with control flip flops set in the right condition.
