final section of TN 0085 is in place
I added a section at the end of TN 0085 which tries to
compare the DS23 magnitudes to the standard magnitude
scale. Unfortunately, there just aren't enough good
standard stars in the area covered by DS23 to yield a
good answer.
Remember, the Tech Note is at
http://a188-l009.rit.edu/tass/technotes/tn0085.html
and the new sections appears at the end:

From the small set of standards which do appear in
DS23, it appears that there's a small magnitude scale error
in I-band, but not in V-band. There are no big color terms
in either passband.
In order to do this last bit of calibration properly,
we'll need to scan the celestial equator for a couple of
nights .... or find some old (but not too old) data in which
that has already been done.
