If Michael R.'s pipeline gives fwhm and roundness as part of
the starlist, you can check to see if the object was stellar
in appearance (one of the reasons why such image shape
parameters are part of my pipeline).  Without looking at the
original image, my guess would be a plane navigational light.
Sometimes you can check these by looking at the astrometry and
seeing whether there is a noticable difference between V and I.
Tom did a calculation once to see if he could determine meteor trail
altitudes with the "stereo vision" provided by the two cameras.
  On a similar subject (well, sorta), the "orphan afterglow"
paper from SDSS (search on my name) indicates that main-belt
asteroids are easy to detect with SDSS.  It turns out that
the time difference between the drift scan in the first filter/CCD
and the last filter/CCD is sufficient that earth rotation will
yield a measurable parallax.
