Re: Request

Rich and all,

I think I will defer looking up stars until someone writes me a convenient
program that allows entry of brief data, or even better a file that I can
copy to my computer. Those of you that are good at scripts can probably
turn out something pretty quick that will let me answer requests like this
with minimum effort. OK, what I would like is to just cut and paste RA,
Dec pairs to a file. Then start a script that looks at the file, and looks
at a specified collected.big file and produces a list of requested
measurements in some third file.

OK, there are no rules in tass, so I may still look up stars for those that
have requested further information. But it is somewhat of a pain. I won't
tell you all the steps I have to do, but some of it it involves burning two
CDs. Ridiculous, I know, but that is what I have to do now to get between
the Windows and Linux machines at the moment. Many of you could solve the
problems in a few minutes, but somehow I always seem to have something of
higher priority to do.
