Record Data Last Night
Last night I took 1342 images with TOM1, TOM2, and TOM3. This is certainly
a record. They were all pretty good except for some ice on TOM1 V
camera. I just did not watch the indicator in the desiccant. TOM1 seems
to have an air leak, and requires more desiccant than TOM2 and TOM3 together.
I am working on getting some comparative runs with TOM2 and TOM3 at the
equator where there are Landolt standards for comparison. A brief look
indicates that TOM2 and TOM3 are getting the same values within the
error. A good sign, I think. Still, the error is larger than I would like.
The processing backlog is building up because I have been investigating one
data set over and over as I try to improve the data quality. No end of
ideas to try, but so far nothing makes the data better. Eventually, I
will declare the engineering run "good enough" and reprocess the whole
stack and publish.
I have been working on cloud removal. It works just fine but does not make
any improvement in the data quality. This is a measure that Michael is
doing a good job on the relative photometry.
