Re: Tom's Big File Online

hi Mike,

i was just about to write to Tom and report that i hadn't received the
CD for this month. now it's clear that he expected your system to be
ready to serve the need.

this is really neat.

couple of suggestions:

the download file was GetData and would be more convenient if it were
GetData.gz. at least on my machine i had to rename the download before
i could uncompress the file. (of course i can force it to let me put
my file name on the download rather than automatically taking the default).

it might be useful to put the search paramaeters as a comment on the first
line of the download file as it's easy to forget what you entered or you
may have made a typo and not notice otherwise.

a minor gripe is that if there is no data, it opens a new browser window
with the default coordinates. what might be more convenient is a pop-up
which some people _really_ hate or return the error message in the same
window with the values the user submitted.

great work!!!
