GSC 748-1618
Hi.
Well, I finally got my new CCD camera and took it for a test drive last
night on GSC 748-1618. This is star 47318 on the DS23 CD of last year.
The TASS data has fairly convincing variability. My data from last
night barely so. The TASS data shows a 0.4 mag rise in V in just over 2
hours from V=11.6 to V=11.2. My data is fairly steady at around V=10.8
(using V mags computed from Tycho-2 Vt/Bt mags for my comp stars). The
standard deviation of my comp star is 0.013 and the standard deviation
of the program star is 0.026. So it seems like something is going on. I
may have caught it right around maximum. Or it may not be variable at
all. The jury is still out.
If anyone wants to take a look I'm using the spatially convenient comp
stars of GSC 748-1474 and GSC 748-1662. I haven't checked them for
color yet. This star is well placed for observations right now.
Cheers,
