Re: What Do You Want?
The good news is that I now have the roundest stars that I have seen to
data. I think the DS-24 set looked like little cork screws if you look
closely. So I think good news for those trying to fit point spread
functions.
I really don't plan to take light box flats all that often. Once a week, I
think. Then I will look at them over a month and see what is really needed.
The plan for the next data set was to take some 7x7 data on two separated
nights with darks and flats for each night. We shall see.
I think the stiffeners help a lot to keep the camera lined up. I just took
some light box flats and they have much less of the structure that I have
seen in previous flats. The I lens now has rounder stars than the V
lens. I suspect that the V lens may have a skewed lens. I shall examine
it. Actually I plan to put together a lens pair with blacken edge lenses
(this was not done at the factory) and the flocked paper.
