Progress

It has been a tough few days. TOM1 died and I had to really work to find
the problem. Well, I still have not found the actual sickness, but it was
caused by the clock failing to stop on the scanner. No doubt a sick chip
somewhere. Replacing the stamp board finally cured the problem. This was
complicated by my simultaneous search for a software problem. This is
motivation to get the test stand running again so I can fix boards and have
a set that I know is good.

The result was that I really looked at the memory board logic and the code
associated with it. I do not understand how it worked at all with the code
I was using. I understand the new code and have also written a memory card
diagnostic.

It has been cloudy, so there is no real loss of data. Tonight I should
finish up flat fielding all the systems and I should be ready to run all
the systems when the weather clears, possibly tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, I have been working on procedures for running the new version of
the pipeline. I am almost set up so that soon I will start reprocessing
everything with the new code. Just one computer problem. A nice new 2GHz
computer refuses to talk to ethernet. Sigh! There is always something.
