Only Known Problem

The Clear Sky Clock promises good weather tonight so I should be able to
run all three systems. Gosh, clear sky and no moon. This does not happen
very often.

The only known problem is TOM3 which occasionally writes a bad file. I
have tracked this down to the chiller. TOM3 and TOM2 are both on the same
chiller and so should both be subject to the noise. However, TOM2 controls
the chiller. So it turns it on and off when it is not transferring an
image. This is a lesson in noise elimination. If you can't eliminate the
noise, make sure it happens when you are not doing something critical.

If TOM2 and TOM3 were running on linux boxes, then someone here could
probably solve how to have the two control programs compare notes and
switch the chiller at a safe time.

I will try to solve the problem at the source, which is usually the right
way. I have ordered a line filter and will try to locate it so that the
chiller switch on does not radiate and get into the output cable. If that
does not work, I will try a shielded cable. I can probably get away with
one of the ones I have.
