  Actually, _if_ sometime in the future we were to learn of an
improved list of reference stars, and _if_ we cared enough to
do something, I believe that we _could_ make all the necessary
adjustments and calculations using the magnitudes output by
the pipeline.  There would be no need to go back to the
original images for this reason.

  I stand by my claim that Tom is not doing irrepairable harm
by keeping cleaned images.
