I have been searching my big list for variables.  I have a list of 
possible short period variables and a list of long period variables as a 
result.  All done using a standard procedure.  

I looked up the first ten of the short period variables in VizieR.

9 were GCVS variables
1 single letter
5 two letter
3 four digit

1 was a ROTSE variable.

So much for my finding new short period variables.  As they say, more 
data will be needed.

Next to look at the long period candidates.
