Re: iraf & DS9 on a redhat system



Hmm, I don't recall the install script needing ds9 for anything. I know 
that IRAF is very picky about being installed exactly correctly. Once 
that is done and you are successfully running cl when logged in as 
yourself (i.e. not iraf), I just launch ds9 from within IRAF like:

cl> ! ds9 &

...and it seems to work fine. It has been a while since I installed it 
but I don't recall it needing ds9 for the install.
