One More Thing About the Data
The tass pixels are large, about 7 arc seconds. This means we are in
trouble in dense star fields. Somewhere around a density of a thousand
stars per square degree it is high enough that the result will be garbage.
We do not sort out these areas but you should all be aware that you should
not try to use tass data in the denser sections of the Milky Way. It is
just common sense.
There are always problems relating to the statistical density of the stars.
This is not peculiar to tass. Some stars will be close enough that they
are sometimes measured with another star and sometimes not. This is just a
function of the star density and the pixel size. Grown ups realize this
and make sure that they look at the images to check for such problems.
