I've Been Working on the Test Box
All the Live Long Day.
Yep. Just fixing stuff. Today I fixed a couple of cameras. Slowly the
good stack is building up. It is beginning to smell like spring will come.
Once the snow melts off the roof, then it will only take a couple of weeks
to get TOM1, TOM2, and TOM3 all spiffy and ready to go for a season of data
taking. Hopefully it will be soon enough to fill the gap since the last
data taking sequence.
I am gradually learning to recognize the obscure problems.
The TOM3 computer is pretty old. I hope to be able to change it out for
one of the new computers I have in reserve. I just have to find a serial
port card since I need a second serial port to run the dome closer from the
rain detector. Sigh! I have zillions of serial cards but none that fits a
PCI slot. Off to Price Watch to buy one. Hmmm! I just realized that I
might as well run the old computer as the dome closer. Just run a
continuous loop watching for rain. Seems like a terrible waste, but it is
not good for much else.
