Turning Back On
Last night I turned on for the first time since December. TOM1 and TOM2
worked. TOM3 still has a problem. I then tried to run the data throught
the pipeline. TOM1 would not talk to the network. Well, I had to replace
the TOM1 computer since the old one had died in the meantime. I thought
that I did everything right. I can ping TOM1, but I cannot talk to it from
the linux network.
I get the following error when I try to mount leejohn:
2083: tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRinretname (Invalid network name in
tree connect.)
SMP connection failed
As near as I can tell, all the settings in leejohn (the TOM1 computer) are
exactly the same except for the IP address as they are in the working kathy
with runs TOM2. Sigh!
Actually 1/6 of the pipelines worked and produced data. Another 1/6 just
fialed to run. When I looked at the parameter files, there were things
that were changed to old values. Hmmm! I was able to load my *backup
pipeline* and it looks like it is running.
I can see that it will be a struggle to get everything working again. My
goal is to be up and running with everything spiffed and calibrated by the
late March new moon. At least I have working spares for everything.
