Understood. Perhaps my question should have been put as to what
extent people may have already done this.
(Bear in mind that I am a novice with respect to the contents
of the Hipp/Tych/SIMBAD databases so I am not certain of the
quality that they map onto one another. Also one gets into
resolution issues when attempting to map one of the more
gross sky surveys onto a finer resolution survey. I'm unsure
of the degree to which this may be a concern with TASS and
other available database information. My impression to date
is that there is some amount of interpolation that may be
taking place.)
Thanks,
