I just sent an email to a relatively popular research
mailing list on gerontology at UCLA -- it showed up in my
email inbox within about 2 minutes. (This is a public
mailing list at a major university to direct email
delivery through a personal email filtering system.)

Nobody (other than perhaps Madonna or Brittany) needs
a 2 GB mailbox unless you intend to use it as an offsite
data storage system. (Human beings usually cannot generate
that much information in their entire lifetime unless
they are dealing with things like full real-time video feeds.)
For TASS purposes there are much better ways to store and
distribute information (as Tom has worked out and is still
developing).

So one might begin to rate external email systems on
a response rate rather, quality of their spam filters,
redundancy, etc. rather than how many GB of storage they
claim to provide. (Because with most of them I suspect you
are dealing with single site data storage facilities.
One hurricane (or meteor, or *whatever*) and its *all* gone.
