One of those Days

This has been one of those days.  A bad CD writer.  A bad cable, and a bad 
dual processor CPU.  OK, I don't know that everything was really bad.  The 
number of combinations to try is pretty large and I am not going to test them 
all today.  Also bad software.  Also a brief power outage in the middle of 
everything else.  K3B seems to write at a speed higher than it is set and 
this causes loss of data at the end of a disk.  So I have gone back to 
xcdroast everywhere.  

The net result of all this is that a lot of bad images were written.  Further, 
I am not gong to try to read 3000 CDs to see which ones have bad files.  I 
don't really want to know.  I try to do something that requires reading a lot 
of files every month or so.  I think there are not too many that are bad.  We 
shall see when I try to load up "mike" with a bunch of images so that we can 
play games with images.

It ii 11:30 PM and everything is working.  I am going to bed.
