Two ideas.
1) Get a yahoo.com mail account. Yes it has limitations but it
works. And, I can access my mail _anyplace_ even from an
Internet caffe in Mexico.
2) Set up your own mail server. Not the simplest thing to set
up bt then it will work exactly like you want it to including
accessing your mail from any computer on Earth via a web
interface. Likely you already have all the software you need
Look at e-mail address and see which I do.
