Getting the grand plan executed

Hello helpers and the whole tass list since a few more might be interested,

I have spent the whole day fussing with mark trying to get a printer
hooked up.  Many tries at reloading the system so that it would see the
printer failed with various signatures.  Often the system load just hung.

Doug I am sorry I wiped out mark.  I am afraid that everything is gone. 
Things just went from bad to worse. I have spent most of the day trying to
get the system to load. Don't try to mirror it until I have exercized it a
couple of days.  I may want to replace the mother board, though this board
seems like it is put to good use as a little used back up.

OK I think I know what went wrong.

The history of the mike mother board is that one day I tripped on the
serial port wire.  After that the installed serial port would not work.  A
plug in serial card fixed the problem and affer I learned that the
computer recognized cards in a different order than expected, mike has
worked withoug problem.  It now appears that there is also a problem with
the parallel port.  No doubt, tripping on the ethernet wire broke some
trace on the board. In any case, all tries at getting the printer to work
on this computer failed.  I even loaded the system up to the point of
printer configuration, and then plugged in the printer.  The configuration
went through a few steps and hung at the point where it was trying to do
something with the printer.

Peter, there is nothing to do until peter the computer is networked and
the printer works on it.

The plan;

1) Exercize mark.  If it keeps working, then let Doug mirror it.
2) Get the network working on peter so that we can try to get the printer
on peter networked.

So you all have the day off until I do a few more things.  ;^)
