ASAS 002511 - TASS observations

It looks like Tom got some nice observations of this star:
http://sallman.tass-survey.org/servlet/markiv/template/TassPlot.vm?object_id=8952819

When I ran across this star over the weekend, I checked Vizier and saw
that the star matched 1RXS J002510.8+121725 and that there was also an
entry for:
The Hamburg/RASS Catalogue of optical identifications.
Northern high-galactic latitude ROSAT Bright Source Catalogue X-ray sources.
     Zickgraf F.-J., Engels D., Hagen H.-J., Reimers D., Voges W.
    <Astron. Astrophys. 406, 535 (2003)>
    =2003A&A...406..535Z

They identify it as an AGN. I, of course, jumped to the conclusion that
this was a new blazar. :-)
Then yesterday, I checked Simbad and found 1 reference to the object,
which led me to ASAS 002511. Not sure how I missed the link, as I've
been playing around with Michael R.'s ensemble code, where he uses this
very star as an example!
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to what about it
identifies it as a dwarf nova versus a blazar? The superhumps?

Thanks,
Mike
