Adventures in Sys Ad
I figure that after a couple more years of this I will be able to get a
$5.00 an hour job as a systems administrator. I think I already know more
than the person that used to help me with my computer at Fermilab. It
will be protection in case the stock market goes bust and social security
is wiped out.
I have learned something new. I thought that in linux when you formatted
the disk you wiped out everything and started fresh. I think this is not
so as I seem to have fixed my dying mike computer by loading tomsrtbt and
wiping the disk. So there seems to be something on the disk at the start.
Chris Albertson taught me this trick a couple of years ago as a way to
rescue Windows computers that Bill had captured.
Something has to write the superblocks, who does it and when?
Hopefully mike is now fixed and I can go back to working on the data.
Now that I seem to have a working web site, I can sit here, process data,
and put up lots of plots of possibly varying stars.
