RE: On Line Astronomy

Rob and all,

I have added two computers to my network.

chipper 192.168.1.5 will be connected to TOM1. At the moment it is live
on the net. Probably we will connect it to TOM1 on Saturday.

bill 192.168.1.14 is connected to the test stand. Rob has an account on
this machine. Let me know if anyone wants accounts and where you want
them.

The goal of all this is to get Rob's linux software first running on the
test stand and then controlling TOM1.

I want to do this while the weather is useless for taking data. If
successful, we will start running the TOMs from linux.

If there is interest, I will devote one of the telescopes to remote
operation. This will be your opportunity to track a star of interest and
take lots of two color data. The new TOMs have a somewhat larger ra
range. If there is real interest I can add a couple of hours of tracking
by making a feew parts.
