Calibration
I have spent the evening running up and down the spiral stairs to the
telescopes. tom1 is broken but tom2 and tom3 need calibration so that
they point where I think they should. I suppose that the rest of you do
not have a problem making corrections. I always put them in the wrong
direction and when I write myself a little formula to tell me which way
the corrections go, then I inperpret it wrong. Sigh! So each adjustment
involves several trips up and down the stair. At 75 I don't seem to
have enough trips in my legs to get the job done.
Well, I am writing this while waiting for an image from tom3. tom2
produces images that I can easily match to star charts now. tom3 is
pointing higher up and there are either no good stars or too many.
Sigh!
I am now running with Rob's 0.95 software. I finally learned how to set
it up so that I don't get a million errors and it seems to be working as
it should. Thank you Rob. Those of you with telescopes should consider
using this software. Especially if you know about modern software
techniques. It is really very nice.
